if my iphone breaks.......?

i'm not sure what happened to my refurbished 3g iphone but it wont take a charge, i know this could probably be easily fixed but i want the iphone 4 anyways. but you have to wait for so much time until you can get it at a cheap price, so should i get it fixed, or could i just get a new one at the cheap price?
