If my husband wants a divorce how does the judge decide to grant this?

I believe every state is different, but if you have kids, then there is a waiting period from the time you file for divorce until the court date. For example i think it's six months in the state of michigan.

If you are childless, the time limit isn't very long or non-existant, you just have to wait for a court date.

You do not have to go to marriage counseling -- no court can order that, it's an individual decision.

Sometimes Judges will order parenting classes, or other classes or counseling if one or the other of the parties getting a divorce has issues (such as anger), but i don't think it happens that often.

take care.

I was just thinking are there things that we might be ordered to do before the divorce is granted, like marriage counseling.
we live in the state of Oregon!!!!

yeah maybe but if he does not want it it wnt work anyway and willbe a waste of time

I live in Illinois and we were court ordered into marriage counseling before the case would be heard further. After 1 visit the counselor reused to see us anymore because she knew there was no hope for reconciliation (plus mine was a dangerous situation and was not safe). If you have kids there is a possibility one of you, if not BOTH of you, could be required to take parenting classes. It is required here that both parties take the parenting class and it doesn't matter who filed for the divorce. Good luck

Oh boy are you in luck !

You (as the weaker sex) get EVERYTHING !

YAY FOR YOU !

car
house
his paycheck for years years and years
his kids
his furniture
everything that was once his, is now ALL YOURS

divorce is the best thing going for women, better than stealing !
