If my ducks are given access to fruit and veg garden will they eat the Produce?

Am considering allowing my ducks and chickens to have free roam of my mums vegitable and fruit patch as an organic pest control method. However mum has allready had a battle with pidgeons, dogs, butterflies, caterpillers, slugs, and snails. I don't want to be having the ducks for dinner next week!
