If Less Popular Cartoons Were More Popular.

That's weird..doesn't Aaron McGruder openly DESPISE BET? He had two episodes dedicated to that hatred(of course Viacom wouldn't let AS air them).

As for shows I think should have been more popular...I think Kappa Mikey. I know the production values weren't great, but the show was funny and had an actually rather original premise. I think that if the show had a better budget it might had done better.

Another is Xiaolin Showdown. I'm relatively sure that Xiaolin Showdown was popular...but I do know it lost some popularity over time. I wish they had kept going so we could have had a Season 4. The ending we got was open ended enough but we all know there was more that could have been done with the series.
 
That's right. It was probably fueled by her (the ceo) ignorant statement about what blacks would like that I won't repeat here. This was back in 05/06.
 
It would have been interesting to see another season of x-men evolution. Some of the plot ideas they hinted at in the final episode looked cool, and maybe we would have seen appearances by cable, bishop, deadpool, stryfe, and maybe even some other marvel characters (maybe they would have had scarlet witch and quicksilver join the side of good and join the avengers, that would have been a cool crossover), as well as more development for the new mutants.
 
I would have liked that, and I think it would have worked; and I heard something along those lines as well, I think if Scooby Dee was in the cast I read or heard somewhere that she was going to be his girlfriend or something like that.

I think the 1986 season maybe would have been possibly 11 minute episodes again, maybe with the entire gang, or maybe with Shaggy, Scooby, Scrappy, Velma and Scooby Dee, or with Daphne instead of Velma; it's too bad that there's no specific plans out there that detailed the 86 season if it were to happen, I would love to see what they had planned.



Yeah, there's always the possibility that the show would have been a half hour show again, instead of a half hour block with two 11 minute mysteries; or what I would have done is since Scooby was doing well in syndicaton I guess back then, instead of putting the show on ABC, if HB were do to a 1986 season of Scooby, put it in syndication, maybe alongside the new Jetsons episodes or something like that.

Then Hanna Barbera would have had a perfect way to launch the superstars 10 movie package, run those episodes in the 86-87 TV season, both with Scooby and the Jetsons and then in 87 start running the movies; at least that's the way I would have run things.



I would think they would have done a movie or something to end the series; and Scooby Dee would have been a good addition, maybe she could have been Scooby's new girlfriend, and possibly that would have gotten the show through 1986, or maybe not.

I'd have loved to see what would have become of Pound Puppies if they hadn't watered it down and basically killed the show after that second horrible season. Sticking with the season 1 formula (half hour episodes with Holly still running the pound, with Katrina actually being a formidable threat instead on a comic relief villain) could have carried the show a lot longer.
 
In the case of kids shows, being more popular usually leads to the show losing what was good about it, while the studio milks it out until it becomes unwatchable. For example, Arthur, which is basically a lifeless and joyless soap opera now. I mean, giving Ms. McGrady cancer? The forced talking animals and babies?

Most of the time it's best for less popular shows to stay that way. If it's bad, it gets canceled - so what. If it's good, yeah, getting canceled sucks, but at least it'll go out gracefully (I'll miss ya, Backyardigans), and fans won't have to suffer through shark jumping material.
 
I can agree with you there! Plus, popular shows and movies get really horrible/disturbing fanart and fanfics that has Rule 34 in it. Which means that the less popular shows and movies are saved from this.
 
I personally would have liked Catscratch, El Tigre and Mighty B! be more popular than they were, they all had great artwork and jokes:anime:, but sadly Nick cancelled them before they could even shine:mad:. Heck, even 2 of these shows had to air their remaining episodes on Nicktoons Network!
