...would have been closer? What makes him better? Just wondering. Also who would have been a good vice presidential candidate running with him? (Since Palin scared many swing voters from voting for McCain this year)
 
Maybe.

Ron Paul is fiscally-minded while McCain is experience-minded. I suppose any other fiscally-minded Libertarian would have been a good VP. Nobody comes to mind.

Yes, Palin was a fiasco for the McCain campaign. Backfired.
