And Using The Media? Would People Have Supported That, Bearing In Mind The Right To Freedom Of Speech?
Some interesting contributions. I feel uncomfortable about defending this right for those who would take democracy away from us. Isn't democracy worth defending?
Yes, I agree that Germany was in economic disarray after WWI but the Nazi's solution to the problem was to enslave the whole population of Europe, and use murderous scapegoating of a whole race of people...namely, the Jews. Where was the freedom of speech for the victims of the Holocaust, or Poland and Russia?
Luis S. It was Hitler who removed freedom of speech from Germany.

Look up "clear and present danger" and I don't mean the movie.

Freedom of speech is something we should cherish...even for the KKK.

Desperate people do desperate things; Hitler knew that. When he came on the scene they were an easy mark. Remove freedom of speech and he was right on target to gain the power and control he wanted.

If you travel the world, you will seldom find a country that gives it's people the rights equivalent to us Americans.

Not everyone has the right to freedom of speech... OR religion. It's a very turmoiled world beyond our boundaries.
