Okay i took a look at ichiro stats! wow. if he left 9 years i think they would make an exception. the guy hasn't had one season without 200 hits, or a 100 runs. and he has 330 stolen bases and a .333 batting average. He's a lot better than i thought he was. Damn not saying hes ted williams, but if somebody thought he was the greatest hitter ever. i would see where they are coming from. 9 straight seasons with 200 hits? wth his that about!

He would fall short of the Hall's mandatory ten major league seasons for consideration.

However, given his unique status -- a gloriously successful career on both sides of the Pacific, and honor upon honor during his MLB tenure -- one could imagine that the Hall would bennnnnnd its rules a wee bit (like it has before) to get Suzuki-san on a ballot in due time.

After playing for 10 years - he has HOF numbers.
However, he would still have to wait the required 5 years after retirement before being placed on the HOF ballot.

No, you have to play 10 years to be eligible.

However, if he retired at the end of next season, yes, I think he's a Hall of Famer, but it might take a couple of years of voting.

If he plays 5-7 more years and gets 3000 hits, he's a First Ballot HOFer.
