If I would have went in a time machine and brought my electronics to Mexico in the...

...1800's? plus, this was around the time when Mexico had everything from the state of Utah, down to Costa Rica and including the little Islands such as Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and the Phillipines. We probably would have been like Soviet Russia.
like Playstations, Xbox, MP3s, Cell Phone, Laptop, etc. and brought it to Mexico in the 1800's, would Mexico, and be a technologically advance country by now? Right now, Mexico is one of the most Advanced of the 3rd world countries, and for a 3rd world country it is very advanced, but by world standards it does fall quite a bit short.

So if I brought those gadgets, would Mexico and not Japan be a very advanced country and rich and make giant robots defending godzilla from attacking their cities? Would it be a rich country by now?
Mexico is one of those countries that have the resources to do these kinds of things, but they just have bad governments. But yeah starting out with flashlights and light bulbs would better since they would know the basics first, and then gradually build up to the more complicated computer chips and ultra thin transitors and such.

No. Countries like Mexico do not need electronics to advance, they need social & political freedom. Education, social equality, economic opportunities, responsible government & law & order are what Mexico needs.

interesting

there was a comedy sketch show, where a guy went back in time to Leonardo da vinci, and told him details of computers, aeroplnes, etc... except the guy had no idea how compuers worked or what physical laws allowed the plane to fly

they realise its a waste of time and the future guy has not told leonardo anything useful

Depends. Necessity is the mother of invention, so unless Mexico needed such advanced electronic gadgets, it wouldn't have developed into making giant robots and godzillas like Japan. You also need money to develop and invent new technology. The reason why Japan is so well off in that sense is because after WWII, it stopped investing on warfare, so they had enough money to spend on research, invention, which they sold once they were made. This brought in more money for more research, etc, and so it goes on.

You should probably start with more simple things - like flashlights, magnetic motors to generate electricity from rotating, and things that they can see how they work, and how to make them work.

Jumping way up to "black box" technology where their is only a magical computer chip with unseen software programs running would not enable them to help build one.

So, my guess is no, unless you also brought in teachers to teach how to do that stuff.

No. Those technologies are too advanced for any nation of the 1800. You would need to bring back technology that the people in that time period could build upon that would enable them to eventually create their own technology based on the basic technologies that you brought back with you, so when you arrived back in the year 2009 Mexico would have advanced technology.

Just bringing back items like Playstations, Xbox, MP3s, Cell Phone, and Laptops would make no sense to the minds of the 1800s. The integrated circuit idea would not be able to be comprehended, and also in order for them to know what these technologies do, you have to be able to plug them in, and demonstrate them. Last time I checked the power requirements for all the technological gadgets you mentioned would not be able to run off of the non existence electrical power of the 1800.

The technology that you should bring back are technologies like radio (The most primitive) telegraph, and telephones (Again the most primitive) basic, primitive light bulbs from the 1920s and 30s. Also you would want to introduce vacuum tube technology, and you should take back with you basic principles of electronics. AC and DC and basic applications and concepts.

You will also need to find people who are capable of taking these technologies, and with innovation and creativity are able to create an application, a device, or a gadget, that would serve a building block function in the world of 1800 that would get other inventors excited, and interested. You do this and eventually with enough people, money, curiosity, and interest enough synergy would be created and the technological ball in the country would start rolling.

Oh course if you are successful you will have seriously have altered the future of the world, and the time period you left will no longer be the world that you know when you return. You might not even be alive, or you would have created an alternate reality where Mexico is a booming, high tech nation with a very large, and very modern military. The shape of the United States would be different, and the power of the USA would be very much different.

With Mexico being introduced to high technologies before all the other nations would enable the nation to develop light bulbs, vacuum tubes, radios, television, telephones, radar, the first computers, and with that kind of synergy engineering wouldn't be far behind. Massive increase in engineering would have enabled Mexico to produce better vehicles and weapons than everyone. This alternate reality Mexico would have seriously upset the balance of power in the world that we have come to know today.

From your actions WWI,WW2 would seriously have taken a different direction. Japan would have never been nuked (at least not by the USA)The United States does not enjoy the center stage in world affairs, and Mexico would be the center of all culture and technology on the world stage. 9/11 would never have happened in the USA, but most likely it would have happened in Mexico. The Spanish language would be dominate etc.

I could go on, and on about the ramification of your actions by taking technology back through time, but I think you get the picture.
