if i where to buy a cellphone watch will my g1 htc service work on it?

im thinking of buying a new phone and i just saw the cellphone watch commercial but my question is will my g1 htc service with t-mobile work on it. the commerical says that t-mobile service works on it but since im using 3g andriod service will it still work
