i would say yes because that is what your job is.. as a defense attorney you get paid more based on how well you do in court..also a lawyer is not only in place to defend the person but to represent them in court and make sure they are not taken advantage of by the legal system...

morally im sure you would think that this is wrong but you gotta do what you gotta do!
 
If I was a lawyer defending my client for arson. What happens, if i discover he did* actually commit arson?

Would I keep defending him or what?

Yes, because he is your client, and you are supposed to defend him
and be on his side :)
 
This is a question of ethics.

Just like lawyers that defend high paying clients they know are guilty. Do you defend for the money or do you give up the case for the hammer of justice?

The answer to your question is in your heart.
 
Sometimes as a lawyer, you don't defend your client to set them free, you represent them to insure they get a fair trial, and let the jury decide.
