If I wanted to put up birthdays on my site... using PHP and MySQL, how would I do it?

It's unclear whether you want to just show it to the person in question. But if that's your goal, you'll need a way of identifying the person.

To show it to anyone, you would simply do a select on your database to find people whose birthday is today (check MySQL's manual).
 
Here's what I'm trying to do. I have a database which has the birth-dates of people. Now I want to simply echo "Happy birthday" to so and so based on the dates.

For instance, if Mike's birthday is on the 24th of January, then, on the 24th, it should show "Happy Birthday Mike!"

I guess this would require.. hm. I don't know what this would require. Something like, maybe, have the database understand that today's 24th of January and if so, echo "Happy Birth..."

Hm. I dunno. Basically have the database pull up the birthdays for all the members and wish users a happy birthday on their birthday.
I'm only using PHP and MySQL; can't use other languages.
I want to show Happy birthday on the home page to about 200+ users who use my site.
On the 24th, because it's ABC's birthday on the 24th, so ABC, XYZ everyone who visit my home page should see that I'm wishing ABC happy birthday, because on the 24th, it's his birthday. Hm, did I confuse more?
