If I wanted to become a bounty hunter what do I need to major in in college...

...and what should I study? I know I will obvioulsy need to go into criminal justice, but is that what I should major in for bounty hunting or is there a specific major that relates to it?
 
It depends on which state you are in, I am in TN and want to become a bounty hunter until I finish college. In TN the requirements are to simply pass a course and some tests, no degrees.
Some states may require one, Some states require other things.

I know Texas does not require a degree, but I think it requires you to have a Private Investigator license first.

And the proper term is bail enforcement agent, not bounty hunter.

Google for the requirements set by four state to find out exactly what you will have to do to become one.
 
Know someone who is willing to train and take you under their wings, however, either way, you still have to have basic knowledge of the law. It's like you can't be a detective til you have served time in patrol. So, I would suggest that you start with school, major in criminal justice and make use of contacts along the way, in the area you have interest in. You will never go wrong with an education. Being a bounty hunter is unique. You should be able to go on line to get further info., but be careful what you respond to. Good luck.
