if i use clay on the kitchen table, is it possible that it took the finish off?

i used regular white throwing clay to slab a pot together and for the most part the clay didnt have much contact with the table (ex. rolling or cutting) and when it did touch the table it was setting things on it so there was a little ring where i put it there.

i washed the table with dawn afterwards.

now it seems to be a little cloudy and less shiny.

anything i can do to help?!
