if i unlock my lg shine to use it for t mobile will it delete everything on the phone?

as it says above im not sure whether it deletes everything off the phone when i unlock it so i just want to make sure before i do this.

any feedback would be greatly appreciated :]
also i forgot to ask, if i unlock it will i still be able to use the network that i currently have because i need to unlock it today but will not be switching my network till tomorrow.
