if i swap my sim from my iphone to another smart phone will the data work?

sorry for lack of detail, im aware of the different data packages for types of smart phones, and my question is about the actual package not hard data on the hdd. what i really am looking for is say i order a sony experia... or another smart phone/blackberry if i swap my sim if data xfer will still work because i do not want to change my data plan and loose my unlmited for iphone but need a new phone and am not eligable to upgrade plus u cannot get a sony erricson on contract anyway
 
it should AT&T might change the plan for you over to a lets say from iPhone over to BlackBerry data plan. Same price so you won't see a difference. I actually think they got rid of this and just made it a "universal smart phone data plan" instead of giving different names for the same product
 
Most cell phone companies have specific types of data packages that have to be added to your account in order to function with the different types of operating systems. Most of the time some data features will work, like your browser, or email, but if your phone has a marketplace or app. market it will not. For instance, an android data package would not operate one for a blackberry. I'm assuming it would work the same way with an iPhone. I would call your provider to check. It doesn't usually change the cost of the plan, its just a matter of having the correct feature.
