If I rev my engine up to 2rpms on the start up is that bad? I have a 73 pontiac

with a 350 in it.? Sometimes in the cold weather it takes a few tries to get the motor running. So I pump the gas once. If that does not work then I put my foot on the gas slightly then start it. I have only done this like twice, but I was wondering if it harms the engine? Its a rebuilt engine with roughly 5000 miles on it. Lot of performance parts on it.
