it will work the question is whether at&t will require you to have a data plan. some people say you need a data plan even if you don't buy the phone from the store but i read in a forum that someone called at&t and someone at customer service told him that the only time he would need a data plan is if he bought the phone from at&t as an upgrade. other than that you wouldn't need one. you can put your sim card in and if your bill has a data plan on it at the end of the month then call att and complain to them. they should take it off but if they don't then just get a different phone and they won't be able to charge you for a data plan anymore. most likely an att store will tell you u need it no matter what but if you get a nice person at customer service then they might tell you the truth that you don't need it. good luck and hopefully it works out!
