If I put in another iPod of the same type to my computer, what happens to the media?

I'm trying to put music on my sister's iPod (We both have the new iPod nano), and it said that I needed to register hers on my computer, so I did. But then it said all of the media would be lost on her iPod.
It also lead me to think that if I put MY iPod back in, then it would do the same thing, since hers is now registered. So what would happen to both of our iPods in regard to the media?

Sounds like your sister's ipod had previously synchronized to a different computer/itunes.

in order to prevent music piracy, an ipod can only be setup with 1 itunes - so what will happen is that your sister's ipod will be wiped clean, and then you can put on music from the current itunes.

Yours should not experience any issues - itunes is smart enough to know the difference between two ipods.

her ipod was obviously not registered and was synced with someon else's computer. That's why her media would be lost.
No the same doesn't apply to you if you only have synced with your computer.
