If I just turned 18 in Texas do I have to take a class to get a license?

I got my permit when I was 15 like everyone else does, and I've just had it for years. Now that I'm 18 I was under the impression that I could just walk into the DMV and ask to take the test, but someone told me that if you're between 18 and 25 you still had to sign up for a small 6 hour course before you can test for your license? Is this true, and if so where do I go to take said class? Please help 'cause I really want my license
