activate it after I get another ph? ok so my dad has insurance on his Verizon phone and my cell phone broke a week ago.

We're wondering is it possible for him to report the phone lost, and get another phone with insurance(I'm aware that you have to pay like half of what it cost...) for me and later re activate his phone??
