If i go to Canada to get my nursing certificate will it still be able to work in the US?

I am a US citizen and i am going to Canada to take nursing classes up there. When i graduate there and get my certificate will it be valid in the US? i really want to know so it is not a waste of time going up there please someone let me know ASAP =)
