If I get the 80 GB ps3, can I play God of War 1 and 2 on it?

I read that the 80 GB is backwards compatible, but not all the ps2 games work? Will the God of Wars work on it?

And I know they're releasing both God of Wars for PS3 in November, but I'd rather get them now.

But on GameStop.com it says the used 80 GB model does have 4 usb ports...?
 
Sorry current models of PS3 as well as the Slim PS3 are not backwards compatible. You will not be able to play any PS2 games on any of these consoles.

However if you find a 20GB and 60GB or 80GB PS3 console with 4 USB ports on the front of them then these consoles are backwards compatible and will play PS2 games. The newer console models only have 2 USB ports which do not make them backwards compatible. Sony no longer makes these older models and they only way you will find them is through ebay. No retail stores carry any of these PS3 consoles.
 
actually gamestop/ebgames do sell used ps3s that are the older 80gb/40gb. there is also plenty of websites that have them like ebay, amazon, craigslist, techforless.com, among others. And you will be able to play gow 1&2 on the 80gb from gamestop since its the older 4 usb port model.
