If I file Unemployment, is it possible for my employer to FIRE me?

Ive been working for about 7 months now, never had a problem ( I even got a raise in those months), But was told about a MONTH ago that theres no work, that I would be contacted when they get more business.If I file for unemployment, can I be denied and GET FIRED?
 
I agree with the first answer you got, and want to add, if they terminated you, and it is "economic termination", you CAN file for unemployment! If they put down some other excuse such as "poor performer" or similar, your S.O.L. :(
