If I exchange my ipod will apple not the count the next ipod plugged into my computer?

The ipod they gave me is shit, when i first got it the wi fi was fine, now its half speed, the back is completely scratched up for no reason when i got it, one of the buds on the headphones doesn't work, and it was an eighth drained of battery when i had been listening to music with the screen turned off through my headphones for only a couple of hours. it hasn't even been a week yet. my mom went on a business trip and bought me the ipod touch at best buy, i was wondering if theyll let me exchange it for a different ipod. but then ill have 4 out of 5 ipods plugged into one computer even though one of them i would have returneive only had the ipod for 6 days
