If I drag a program to my flash drive, will the program now be on my flash drive?

I was wondering if this works. I'm not sure if the program will be put onto the flash drive or just the icon.

Does it work like that? If I drag, lets say the internet icon from my desktop onto my flash drive, will the internet be on my flash drive?
And also, can I take a program, drag it to my flash drive, then put it on a different computer?

no if you drag the ie icon from your desktop or quicklaunch you are only moving or copying the shortcort link to it. if you wish to put a copy of the internet explorer exe you need to go to program files/internet explorer but there is more to make ie work than just iexplore.exe there are other files in this directory ie depends on to run. so no whatever programs you desire to put in the flash drive you have to go to the directory they are installed into under program files. the icons for anything you see on your desktop are just shortcuts which of course are little text files that contain the complete dos path to the program .
