If I cut a Polaroid photo down, will the photo be ruined?

I need to cut the borders off of an old Polaroid in order to add it to an art project. Is this ok to do without ruining the picture?
I'm just unsure if the emulsion still needs to be kept intact in order for the image to stay intact. It's an honest question. Brother.

Take the polaroid to a photo lab and tell them you need a good quality copy. Save the polaroid for an album or something and cut up the copy.

edit-Remember, a polaroid is a one of a kind photograph. You can have one scanned and copied but it will never have the look of a true polaroid.
