I've just recieved an £80 fine from a debt collector acting on behalf of the DVLA for a car I sold 2 years ago, I've been accused of failing to notify them of a change in keeper. I have told them that I sold the car before I moved house and was told that I should have notified the DVLA that I had moved house AFTER selling the vehicle and should have followed it up after not recieving a confirmation letter! I didn't even know about confirmation letters at the time. Now I'm told that I will have to go to County Court to plead me case! What shall I do?
If I changed my address after I sold my car, should I have to inform the DVLA?
