If I buy an unlocked Blackberry Storm 2 can I use with T-mobile with out data plan ?

T-mobile experts this is for you: I'm using a T-mobile non smart phone with no data plan; I want to buy a unlocked BB storm 2, insert SIM card and use the Wi-Fi at home & work. The phone should work ok for calls and text since is unlocked but is T-mobile going to force me to get a data plan or am I going to be ok with my plan ??
