...social security health nd money? I want to buy a car because my car is seriously old and really messed up. Ive been saving up money im 79 years old and recieve medicaid and medicare and also my son gave me some money to buy a car. Im really scared that if i do buy the car they can take away my money especially my health benefits? I will buy a used car and pay it cash. No borrowing i will pay full. Can they take Away my benefits?

No, they can't.

The value of your car is excluded.

However, if your son buys you a car as a gift, that will not count as income, because the car does not provide you with food or shelter and will become an excluded nonliquid resource under §416.1218 in the month following the month of receipt.

It depends on the rules where you live, how about if you buy the car and put it in your sons name. There is no law against you driving your son's car and no money path for them to follow to you.

As long as your a licensed driver you can drive anyones car with their permission.
