If I buy a BlackBerry from eBay, do I need to get the Data Plan from T-Mobile?

I just bought a BlackBerry Pearl Flip on eBay and was wondering can I use it without being force fed the data plan from T-Mobile. My mom had my number not add any services to the bill. Will the Flip add the Data Plan for it automatically? I do not want the wrath of my mom to be felt.

I don't think the blackberry pearl flip requires the data service. I think that if youdid and you bought the phone elsewhere you wouldn't need to add the service.
