Okay, I purchased a BlackBerry Curve from AT&T back in May 2009. At the time, you were not required to have data plan when you purchased a smart phone. It broke numerous times and i requested for a upgrade and received a Blackberry Bold. I got the Blackberry Bold in November of 2009. AT&T thought i purchased a new phone and started to charge me for the 30$ Data Plan because starting in like August if you purchased a smart phone you had to have the data plan. I called in and had them disable internet completely on my NUMBER. Not my phone. Soon after, my friend had upgraded to an iPhone 3GS and had a old 3G. We thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if I put my SIM Card in and disabled all internet options. We made a couple calls and texts and then waited for the next months phone bill. Sure enough, AT&T did not charge me for using the iPhone. I bought it off my friend and now have been using it for over 3 months. The even more bizarre thing is that i checked my bill on the AT&T website and it shows me using the iPhone.
So my question is: If i turn on WiFi and still have network internet and roaming off, will AT&T charge me for the data plan?
