If i activate a standard att phone using a prepaid sim, what functionality will it lose?

I was thinking about getting an lg incite off ebay as well as a prepaid sim card. If i used the go phone plan with unlimited text only, what functionality would the phone lose? Also, is there any particular sim card i should buy, and what would i need to do to activate the phone like this? thank you
