more used HD's for sale than Honda? Honda is #1 in total Motorcycles sold every year since 2003
Harley Davidson is #2
Yamaha #3
Suzuki #4
Kawasaki #5
maybe I should explain the question better:
WHY are there more USED Harley's for sale?
If HD is so wonderful why are so many used ones for sale?
polarbear? I have seen many more older 1970's Honda Gold Wings, and Interceptors on the road than old Harley's
YOU PEOPLE JUST DON'T GET IT

IF THAT HD YOU OWN IS SO WONDERFUL WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO SELL IT FOR?

Hi you are right that being #2 doesn't mean best quality. It just means they make more of them. Look at the harley below that shows up in 2 min into the video

Bart, the economy is bad and alot of people who buy Harleys are buying into the hype. When they lose their job, and the newness fades, they sell the bike. But look at what is usually for sale-is it the the big HD touring bikes? No it is usually Sportsters. Like it or not Sportsters are not very comfortable bikes to start with and are Harleys entry level machine. So when the fad or phase passes for someone who got into mc's because it was something new, the bike gets sold.

As for Japanese bikes not worth rebuilding and not going 100000 miles, Hog Wash (no pun intended). Plenty of Japanese bikes have passed the 100000 mile mark. The big problem with the Jap bikes is parts. You see unlike Harleys, which have not changed that dinosaur of a basic engine design almost since the 30's, you can't just walk into a Yamaha, or Suzuki, or Kawasaki shop and get parts for your 1970 whatever. They just are not supported anymore. The big 4 from Japan moved on to newer engine designs, chassis and brake and suspension parts etc long ago. Oh there are still places to get them and if you are lucky enough to have bought a bike that was a hugh seller year after year, like say the Gold Wing, then you don't have too much of a problem going to the dealer to get parts for your 1979 Wing, but if you bought a say Honda Tourist Trophy or say a VF500, both of these models were only imported for 2 to 3 years, you are basically out of luck.

There are some good things to be said about Harley not changing its basic engine design -you can walk into any HD dealership and buy parts for your 1950 Harley, the engine is basically still the same, save the rocker covers.

This from the idiot that was asking about trading in his two Japanese bikes so he could get a Harley.Brenda needs to beat you silly!Oh wait your already silly. She needs to beat some sense into you.She better buy a six pack of Red Bull first for energy. It's going to take a lot of beating.Your the one that just doesn't get it.

I'm sorry this must only apply to the united states of america and not the world
AS there have been more HONDA C90's sold over any other single brand of bike made in the world. in other words Honda has sold more C90's than Harley has sold any of its bikes. and CHANGE-JIANG have sold more bikes in one month than Harley Davidson have sold in a year. SO like most other stats these have been massaged to suit their needs. It's like H-D /BUELL are Number 2 in the race league.. on what planet? DUCATI have had the highest number of wins on the race track
YAMAHA have scored the most comulative points on the race track.Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi have had the most wins on the race track and neither race a HD
so where do they get their stats from.
Some P!SS ANT town in the mid west that only sells H-d's and burbon
