If God knows all, why did he place the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden?

he had to know that Eve or Adam would partake...couldn't he have just not created the Tree Of Knowledge or at least hid it someplace else?
Me > see that's what I don't get... if he KNEW what they were gonna do, then how is that "testing their faith"? he knew they were gonna fail :\
