If God doesn't exist, why do we argue about Him so much?

Prove to me that numbers don't exist, then I may doubt God.
treefing down there. My question is really, what is it to exist? numbers can not be seen, heard, felt, tasted, nothing. they can only be represented. When you see two apples, do you actually see 2, no, you see apples. or when you seen the number written down, you see ink in a shape that represents the number. numbers have much more in common with God than you may like to believe. They exist as much as God does and that is a valid statement, becuase both God and numbers exist at the very least in thought. So a new question...what is it to exist?

Nothing that anyone may do or say or even bring forth will sway the faith of one who believes. And this is what I admire most about those who believe even though I, in fact, have no faith.

1) Because people who do believe in this nonsense effect the society by voting, having children, etc. When that stops, i'll stop criticizing their baseless beliefs. Deal?
2) Numbers are inventions of humanity. I agree this makes them similar to God.

So by that logic if we were to argue over the existence of unicorns or bigfoot a lot then they more than likely exist? You've done nothing to provide good evidence for believing in a deity. And why would you need numbers to be disproved? That doesn't seem like strong reasoning behind the belief or lack of belief in a deity.

Because the *concept* of God does exist and that's enough to keep all those superstitious little people who are scared of the dark talking about it.

Arguement does not prove or disprove anything. It allows people to explore themselves and their environment. There are many valid theories for and against god. I think the reason people argue so much about god is because there are so many different groups that are taking what they think God said and using it to push their own hate on other people.

Religion is a shame, faith is all up to you. I have no problem with people who believe in god but I do have a problem when a religion thinks they know exactly what God wants, especially if its to exclude anyone.

God is about forgiveness and love. I believe that everyone gets into heaven, everyone. I also believe that you time in heaven is completely different then on earth, in heaven we are all equal and nothing.

You shouldn't worry so much about whats going to happen to you after you die. you should worry about the impact you are having on the world right now, because once your dead you can't do anything anymore.

If God doesn't exist why does he matter so much that we keep arguing about him?

1. Because an argument over the existence of God has little to do with God's actual state of existence. It has more to do with a person's faith and will to believe.

2. Because there are the kind of people who require direct physical evidence for everything or they remain too skeptical.

3. If you are referring to why people on Yahoo Answers argue so much it's because here you have the two opposite extremes: the religious fundamentalist and the atheist. You're not ever likely to get these two extreme points of view to agree!

4. You'd need to ask a new question at Yahoo Answers when it comes to what does it mean to "exist," and you'd better expect plenty of arguments on that topic!

People just like to argue about God. I've learned to ignore it as I really just don't care anymore. If He does exist, then surely that will be a good thing? If He doesn't, the world will keep on spinning. Neither of the possibilities will stop me from being who I am.

He exists if you believe he does.
He doesn't if you don't.

We argue because we can't prove ("scientifically") that he does or doesn't exist. It's the same thing with UFO's or ghosts.
We argue because everyone has their own freedom of beliefs.

Don't start another debate on here.
