If gm goes bankrupt what will happen?

i know its a bad thing and all. But will the price of there used cars go down because it will be so hard to get the parts for the cars.
 
If GM files for bankruptcy, they will do as most other big companies do that file. They will lay off the guys that are trying to make a living. Stop paying their creditors, then restructure the organization. All the while, the CEO will get a huge bonus. Cars and parts will still be made, just not the ones that aren't selling.
 
it would not be hard to get parts.

There are so many aftermarket manufactureres, that you will never have to look very hard for parts.

I would imagine that they would buy the parts and warehouse them for us, and possibly even buy the molds stamping tools, so they can still be remade.

Plus all the salvage yards and junkyards that have them all.

Nothing will change as far as parts or mevhanics go, the real problem is with the job losses, and people will eventually turn to crime for money!
 
if gm goes bankrupt all the autoparts stores will have to cut people because they won't be making as much money. however people in the US won't have to go through all the frustrations they've been going through with their gm vehicles breaking down. so it's a catch 22. but the US will be getting rid of the biggest headache in the auto industry and people that refuse to buy foreign cars will be getting better quality vehicles from ford and dodge.
