power stations to be built? As indicated the US China India and Britain are going to build over 400 coal fired power stations and yet politicians and the MEDIA ignore that fact!

If CO2 is said to be a cause of climate change why are over 400 coal fired

In the United States and Britain, most of the coal fired power plants being built are to replace older power plants so we are replacing old technology with new including the newest environmental controls in place. For China, even when they buy the newest environmental controls they don't turn them on. I am not sure about India. Out of these 400 coal fired power plants I would say that close to 380 of them will be built in China and India with the remaining up to 20 power plants being built in the US and Britain. Also, considering in the United States, the general public doesn't want nuclear power, we have no choice.
Because for the foreseeable future, coal is the only reasonable source for most of our electricity. Nuclear is great, but the plants cost a lot; and you can say all you want about green power, but its just not plausible due to costs, different environments, and lack of resources to make enough green energy to sustain our electricity generation needs.
Edit: A bit of info, not all power companies are in the business to make money. Some power companies are Cooperatives (owned by the customers they serve) and they are in it to offer the cheapest possible electricity to their customers/owners.

Tell me a green power solution that can supply base load power during the night when the wind is not blowing!
Nuclear is the only Carbon - free method of generating base load power, but for some reason the carbonphobes don't like Uranium either.
It is better to use gas in the house, and better to burn petroleum in a car, than to burn either in a power station. Coal is cheap and very little use for anything else than power generation and Steel production.
In a third world that is trying to catch up with our standard of living, who are we to tell the Chinese and the Indians they are not allowed to build Coal-fired power stations?

The 400 to be built, are to be built, to provide much needed power to the populations of those countries. The fact you have not heard much on this subject could be this. The media (I've heard FOX News talk about the 400) is unable to talk about those issues they created and are falling apart around them as being biased. The politicians, mostly democrats, don't want to talk about the issues they push forward and are falling apart around them. They push for us to change and ignore the big picture. The Chinese will be and have been bringing on line 2 new coal fired power plants every week. By the year 2020 the chinese will be putting more co2 into the atmosphere, from coal plants, than all other CO2 sources world wide. Of course the people around Gore and inside the Democratic party don't want to talk about this, it would show how shallow and failed their way of thinking is. If, CO2 is in fact impacting the earth in such a great and negative way, we as a race of beings are in for a lot of trouble.
