If biologists couldn't agree whether virus is a form of life, is it possible that ...?

virus is actually a sophisticated machinery created by Aliens to exterminate mankind? Every time we find a cure to kill the virus, Aliens send a new one. The last one is the HIV Virus. We haven't yet figure out how to kill the virus without killing the cell that the virus infect with.
