If anything that CAN tempt to do sin is haram; shouldnt

tv,computers,internet,sports; i.e. everything be haram? After all, everything has the potential to make someone fall into sin. Whether that's the use of a knife: it CAN be used to kill someone; hence, the use of knives should be made haram altogether, right? It is the same reason to justify that music is haram, it CAN make someone fall into sin. Is there something wrong with people's interpretations of Islam, or is it right?

So music or non-physical relationships (friendships) with a non-Mehram is halal? Is dating (non-physically) allowed between non-Mehrams if the intention is to marry?
 
you are comparing apples with pears.

killing a person is not as easy as it sounds but tv which is a temptation can easily make a person commit unlawful acts.

When a person sees a knife no one gets tempted to kill a person and no one just for no reason thinks of killing a person.

Tv is a temptation which shows scenes of ladies dressed inappropriatly and doing inappropriate stuff. thus by time such acts seem normal to a persons mind. Tv is a tool used to control the mass by a subcontious way.
