If Andrew Cuomo fills Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, how will this impact Chris Cuomo's job at ABC News?

Now that Caroline Kennedy has withdrew her name as a possible replacement for Hillary Clinton's US Senate seat, it appears increasingly likely that New York's Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo, will take over Hillary's Senate seat.Andrew's younger brother, Chris Cuomo, is the "news anchor" for ABC's Good Morning America. If Andrew becomes a US Senator, what impact (if any) will that have on Chris' job at ABC News?Chris joined ABC News in 1999, while his brother Andrew was still President Clinton's Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. However, Chris was a correspondent at that time, and it would not be difficult to get another reporter to cover a story involving his brother if there was any potential conflict of interest. If Andrew becomes a Senator, Chris may have more conflict of interest issues to deal with. Andrew will be in the "national" news much more often as a US Senator than he ever was as HUD Secretary or New York's Attorney General. On the days where Andrew is in the news, does that mean Chris will have to let someone else anchor the news? Also, there's always the possibility that Diane Sawyer may retire from Good Morning America in the not-so-distant future (she is 63, and has been doing GMA for 10 years). Chris would almost certainly be a leading candidate to replace her. If Andrew is a US Senator, will this impact Chris' chances of getting that promotion?

I don't see a problem. What's the conflict? ABC can figure it out I'm sure. They better not take Chris off the air. I doubt Diane is going anywhere too soon. She has a few great years left. She nis only 63.

No this should not be a problem. Chris would never be able to do a report about Andrew Cuomo but he could still anchor a story about him. That would be weird for him to anchor that but he could still do it. He probably would be the replacement for Diane if she left but I don't think she is leaving. I hope she is not at least. I would be so mad if Bill Weir replaced Diane if she left.

Seems to me that there are more serious conflicts-of-interest in the country than a television reporter. The other networks would be the biggest complainers that ABC has an "inside track" but, you know?, the other networks have their own insiders. Big deal for the Cuomos? I don't feel that way.
