If America hates Bush so much, why did the movie "W" bomb so badly?

They didn't even make enough money to cover the cost of making it!
"Beverly Hills Chihuahua" beat it despite being out several weeks already!
 
We were all there, no need to watch a movie about it. It was unpleasant enough the first time around.
 
I was shot once. I wouldn't go see a movie about it.

A movie about W is probably the only movie that I would consider less appealing.
