If aliens invaded, would the draft be reinstated?

As the title says, if extraterrestrials invaded earth, do you think there would be a draft?
I'd say the invasion was like the one in Battle:LA, we were watching this and somehow starting debating the draft would be reinstated.
 
I doubt there would even be time. Our own culture might be like ants to an alien culture with the technology to travel between the stars. If such a species ever looked to our Earth with envy, then I wouldn't hold much hope for our long term future.

Based on historical parallels where a more advanced civilisation comes across a less advanced civilisation, the less advanced is pretty much always doomed. Invasions usually have to be swift and sudden if they are to have any chance of success, and control of the air space is vital to the success or failure of any invasion.
I'm pretty sure any culture that can cross the gulf of space between solar systems will already have all those bases covered when it comes to taking over a planet by force.
On the other hand, they might always come in peace.
 
More then likely, if some extraterrestrials had the technology to travel across the galaxy, they wouldn`t need a military to take over the planet. If they wanted our planet, they could just send down a virus and kill us before we ever knew they were there. It would be much more economical then to move an army across the galaxy.

Look at the movie Battle for LA as an example. They wanted our water. Instead of invading, just send down a virus, kill us all, then take the water with no fight. But that would not make a good movie.

So no, we would be dead before the first occupier hit the ground.
 
Depends, are they bigger than us? how do their weapons compare to ours? How many of them are there? What their intentions are, by 'invading' Earth?
