If a meteorite collided with Earth, and civilization as we know it was

destroyed, what would happen to the? Internet?

All of the millions upon billions of terrabytes of information that is on the web, would it still remain?
 
a lot of it would be lost, as the impact and tidal/earthquakes destroyed the servers. a lot more would be lost when the servers were destroyed by looting/rioting. the rest would be destroyed as nature took over the cities and town. turns out that when a tree grows through a hard drive, the hard drive stops working. who knew?
 
meteorites collide with earth all the time. In fact they are called meteors until they impact with earths atmosphere. Then they are called meteorites.

Meteorites by definition are relatively small. It will never have enough kinetic energy to destroy the earth, or civilization.

And if man kind just suddenly dissapeared, the internet would also disappear. The internet is run by computers, computers are run by power, humans make electrical power to keep computers running. No linking of computers because there is no power means no internet.

1- when it collides most of the buildings will be destroyed and because of it most of the computers will also be destroyed!

2- If there remain some people alive may be with them some information would remain!!

3- however no people alive but if computer remains there too... it will loose itself those information!
because no body uses it so the computers will broke(literally) itself..........
