...court under English laws? I'm currently writing a short story about prostitutes in England, but google isn't giving me enough information. My friend, who is from UK, confirms to me that prostitution is legal, but just doesn't know if a man can be brought to court because he refuses to pay a prostitute can happen or not.

I don't need to know if it happens. I just need to know if it CAN happen, although solid proof would be a good thing too.

So, any UK lawyers out there willing to give an answer?
 
If you're writing a story, the concept of knowing what you are writing about is vital for realism.

To whit: it's a moot point, I've never heard of a prostitute who is paid AFTER the act.
