But if some bloke scratching his balls on a building site tells the same joke its considered racist, where when and how did this happen? Jerry Sadowitch a comedy genuis would invite people to berate him about being jewish " he says aye don't forget i have a big nose and curly hair as well" in his Glaswegian brogue. Liberal he aint, he's a comedian thats his job to make people laugh. But i don't understand how "comedians" can say one thing and be allowed off with it. If Jo Brand was skinny and worked working mens clubs and said half the stuff she gets away with now she'd be called a racist or worse.
Mark i didn't know that one but thats a good'un, its like Groucho marx's daughter being asked to leave the country club swimming pool "she's only half Jewsih how about you let her swim in the shallow end?"

Beats me too. I saw a picture of a clinically obese man with a T-Shirt that read "I beat anorexia" and found it really funny, but I couldn't tell you if it is offensive or not. I think some people get a power kick about being able to use words other people can;t. I used to work with a girl who used to call herself a 'dizzy paki' when she made a mistake. She had a law degree and worked with vulnerable client groups. I think she enjoyed seeing other people feel uncomfortable when she said it. Personally I think the word 'paki' is just an abreviation like the word 'brit' but I do understand that it has racist connatations for alot of people so would never use it.

It's about context: where a steryotype is used in a manner or situation where it serves to promote or reinforce negative feeling towards a race or social grouping then it is racist. Where it serves as a demonstration of its own absuridty & challenges the thinking behind that steryotype then people have no issue with it.
Complicated the issue is not.

what an interesting question... I don't see any one being a racist and scratching balls on a work site. and comedians are supposed to be funny and poke jokes at anything that is deemed hilarious.. Lighten up

No. It would just be crap.
Have you heard any funny liberals?

Humour cant be politically correct, or it isnt humerous. Tell a white joke, id laugh at it if it was funny.

Sammy Davis Junior was once asked (about his game of golf) 'What is your handicap?' He replied ' Im a one eyed, black Jew, do I need anything else?'

There is enough in that one joke to make a Liberal choke in his organic, fair trade, lentil soup.
