...rectal surgery residency pro-? program, generally speaking would he or she have enough experience to be in such a position? The educational background is: completed medical school in 1997, internship in general surgery 1997-1998, residency in general surgery 1998-2003 and a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery in 2003. In 2010 this current position of program director of colon and rectal surgery residency was appointed. Previous to that was and appointment from 2007 to 2010 at a less prominent medical institution in another state. This doctor also holds a position of assistant professor of clinical surgery at the same hospital. I am just wondering if this doctor is too 'new' for this position. The concern stems from a viewpoint of a family member needing a surgical procedure that is immediately necessary for an obstruction in the rectal area. Answers appreciated from an authoritative view. Thank You!
