if a cop doesnt flash his lights/sirens could you still be pulled over?

About a year and half ago, a couple of friends and i were going to store for a last minute beer run 1:45 am. I was not drinking of course i was the designated driver, But on the way to store as i was pulling in the parking lot entrance a patrol car was pulling out. I started to proceed to my destination, I parked my vehicle in a parking stahl my friend and i got out of the vehicle ( my freind was in the back seat driver side) so we got out walking taking a few steps towards the 24hr store . Then i heard the officer say get back in the f..... car with his gun drawn out. I told the officer for what i didnt do anything wrong he repeated, i said again for what am i being pulled over you dont even have your emergency lights on. While i was arguing with the officer my freind took off running. I decided to to go back to my car before the officer accidently shot me. Then the officer had me throw my keys out the window (still no emergency lights on). He also had me put my hands out the window, as the officer approuch me he opened my door and took me out. He turned me around and put the hand cuffs on me, I still asked him why was i being pulled over he wouldnt telll me, as i was being pulled away i closed the door of my vehicle with my foot and told him i dont give my consent to search my vehicle, He said we will see about that that officer roughed me up a little. He searched me the usuall and asked why my freind ran i told him i dont know. He put me in the patrol car mean while another unmarked patrol pulled up took my other freind out of the passenger side of my vehicle searched him and then put him in the patrol car as well. While we were in the patrol car (guess what) they started to search my vehicle tearing it apart as if they had a description of a vehicle like mine that had left a murder scene , i was not worried because i didn't have anything illegal but my kids toys, car seats, the usaull as a family would have ( i have five kids) then they pull out a souviner bat that belong to my son that i had bought him at baseball game (still the officer that parked behind me didn't have his emergency lights on). He asked what was this i told him what it was didn't matter to him at all. Then the worse happend I was booked in for posesion of deadly weopon, also for resisting arrest because i was arguing withe cop in the begining and blamed me for my freind getting away (obstructing police duties). By the way i am still fighting this case till this day they want me to plea guilty on lessor charge so i can be on probation. I guess this is why calfornia is broke spending our tax money in a cases like this. Oh by the way i forgot to tell you guys that im hispanic with tatoos (no gang related tatoos). And no previos criminal record.Please be open minded no close minded people thank you.
