Of course it would have thoughts, but it's emotional growth and brain size would be stunted.

Read about Skinner if you want to know more. He did some pretty nasty "experiments" on his kids to test these theories.

If he did it today he'd be in jail for abuse.

eating and drinking is not needed then would that child grow up to have any thoughts or personality traits? Or would it be more like a vegetable and all it does is sleep and wakeup?
lol, the reason I said eating or drinking is not necessary is because I didn't want any sort of imagery to be involved at all. If the child eats he/she will see the food and might become something because of it. It's kinda really hard to explain but I'm asking this question as if absolutely NOTHING is present.

The child would have personality traits and thoughts.
We are born into this life with many impressions from past birhts, this is the main reason we differ and even babies have different personalities. If you have a child you must have noticed that.

Our subconscious mind contains various centres which define us:
-Instinct and desire center
- Like and dislike center
- Temperament center
- Talents center
- Give and take account center (karma)
- Intelligence center

It is these centers that create thoughts in the mind

Hitler performed some sicko experiments when he lead the Nazi regime. One of those was to put a new born baby in a cage with a bottle and food. The baby would just cry and cry until it died of starvation. So, going by that same principle, the baby would cry any cry, and so would the adult, and so would the old person. The person would eventually fall asleep from exhaustion, wake up, and cry again.

Now, if you're assuming the baby is content, the baby (and eventually adult) would just sit there, since it has noone to enourcage it to teach it basic motor skills.

I'm no psychologist, but what I told you was basically off of logic.
