...Christians? A Catholic says so many hail marys and he feels forgiven for the hit and run he committed last week, and can once again get into heaven when he dies. What happens to a Prodestant? What about the other Christian denominations?
 
Hail Mary's are not what gains forgiveness for a Catholic. Your presumption is wrong.

Non-Catholic Christians and Catholic Christians achieve forgiveness the same way, by Jesus. Catholics simply go by it in the means that Jesus established. He gave us priests who can forgive us our sins (Matt 16:19 and John 20-23). Whereas Non-Catholic Christians ask Jesus himself.

I think that either is perfectly valid, if I find myself in a state of sin, and no priest around and I'm about to die, I trust in Jesus that he will forgive my sins. However, I prefer to go about it in the way he established whenever possible.
 
What exactly is a sin? murder? theft? depends on the situation. it's anything done, obtained, viewed, etc with desire instead of need. my opinion is that a preacher sins any day he signs a multimillion dollar book deal and drives off to his neon 10,000 sq ft church in his brand new leather interior lexus while some less than fortunate person watches and listens for guidance that may never be achieved. Why not live in modesty and give back to the congregation as a whole. Can anyone be truly forgiven (any religion) when they come to church with their manicures and best clothes and beauty shop hair while people in this world are starving.
We are all sinners, we sin in the midst of asking forgiveness. If hell exist we will all be in it.

In Matthew 6:9, the Lord Jesus taught his disciples to pray thus - 'Our Father which art in heaven'. Is there any where in the New Testament that it is even hinted that we should pray to Mary? Search the scriptures diligently - you will never find it.
