If a car goes in for a tune up and the ignition switch is jammed while they

have it, can't they fix it? Since there was nothing wrong with the switch going in and we now have to replace the ignition switch, if the repair shop gets the part and fixes it, they are now charging us for an additional expense to have a dealership reprogram the switch? That was not an expense we were ever told about and should be part of their ignition switch repair. Correct?
 
That key was going to fail eventually. A key is a key is a key. They didn't do anything to the car (like jam it on purpose).

Beside how do you get a key to jam ON PURPOSE? There are lot of things that mechanic do to make extra money. But jamming keys is not one of them.
